Prayer and our part in God's community

Trinity Sunday. now that's some Sunday for a preacher. Do you go all high faluitin academic and talk about three cornered stools, triangles and clover leaves? Do you stick with what is familiar about God or do you pick out the music held in the weave of God's tartan? Decisions. Then something strange happens. 

​The service over, the preaching done, the prayers shared and then kid's kirk says quietly come and see our God ice cream. Look a block of Neapolitan ice cream. It's all ice cream yet its three in one.Well there you go then. The trinity in the freezer what it means to call God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit all held within the one God and yes when it thaws a little what is true of each blurs as it crosses the boundary and enters into the conversation with the community that is our God. There are probably big theological debates about the accuracy of the metaphor, but it let's you peak in on how God lives his everyday life doesn't it?
