Partnership with Scots Kirk, Kandy

Since 2005, Banchory Ternan East Church has supported the Church of Scotland World Mission partnership with the Presbyterian Church (Scots Kirk) in Kandy, Sri Lanka.
Alongside this, we partner with the Scots Kirk’s Community Based Rehabilitation Project, run by the Women’s Development Centre in Kandy. This well-established initiative supports people with disabilities and those facing disadvantage across all ethnic and religious communities. It also runs wider social programmes, including building homes and providing accommodation for families in need.
We value our strong links with Scots Kirk, Kandy. Their minister, Rev. Saman Peres, trained partly in Glasgow and has visited Banchory with his wife, strengthening the bonds between our congregations.
