Glory loves as Glory does

John 13.31-35:
After their last supper Judas departs and Jesus speaks to the remaining disciples.
Jesus talks about divine glory, which he links to his own departure from them.
He has loved them, and their love for one another will be his abiding witness.

Glory loves as glory does. Serving and choosing- a how to guide.
Great ideas for Sunday worship spring up from unlikely places. Be ready for God to stretch you at anytime is a message from the gospels. But then again sometimes it's ordinary things like books that contain the ideas you need. The picture above is a case for me. A lovely sculpture. A symmetrical structure. What do you see? A square of love? but look between the letters. What's there? Yes, air. Air, God's world surrounded and enclosed by love. Maybe like me the first thing you saw in the sculpture was just a great big expressive OOOO which maybe immediately requires an answering AAAAhhh.
Love surrounds us. Love in the middle of a very modern city centre claims the space for us and forces us to react. OOOO ---AAAAh. Look at me. I'm a sculpture showing love to everyone as they past.
Yes it's great when ideas for worship especially as this one did right after worship last week. That looks a lot like the reading for Sunday I thought as I peered through the oooo and discovered the four loves.

Sunday was about that new commandment God gave us through Jesus. Love one another as I have loved you. In particular the reason why we should do this. Simply because it is by this that everyone will know that you are my disciples.
No pressure there, then. God's disciples., us you might say.
But that's what it's all about. No pressure for me, I had my idea on the Monday. Unfortunately by Saturday it was still just that- a short phrase idea. What to do? How to link this into our lives today? What to add to the Easter collage we are making in the church. Nope I can't buy a welding torch, learn to weld and construct a large steel structure in Station road  before Sunday even if it would be radiating love to everyone who sees it form afar. No something simpler had to be found. A book search was needed and there in the ordinary pages of a book I hit gold.  Well maybe not gold, but something sparkling. Dip wet stones into glitter and you can make a shiny path. Sparkling for Jesus. So that's what we did and to prove it here is a picture of our collage.
